Last Gunfighter Odds to Win the Breeders Cup Classic

The Last Gunfighter has enjoyed a recent 1^st place finish at the Philip H. Iselin in August but fell short at the Jockey Club Gold Cup in late September, finishing 5^th.

This horse enjoyed quite a streak of six consecutive 1^st place finishes from October of last year through May of this year.  He finished 2^nd at the Suburban Handicap in July to break that streak before winning the Philip H. Iselin race.

“It wouldn’t shock me at all if this horse was able to grab a piece of it,” trainer Chad Brown said of The Last Gunfighter's run at this year's Breeders Cup Classic. “He’s training really well. I know it’s a tough race. A lot of things are going to have to go his way and a lot of things are going to have to go the wrong way for some of the leading contenders. But it’s a big day and anything can happen. We’re going to take shot.”

Last Gunfighter, who will be ridden by Javier Castellano, drew the rail in the 12-horse Classic.
