Clippers Still a Big Home Favorite Despite Turmoil
The LA Clippers lost badly to Golden State two days ago and there is even talk that players may contemplate a boycott. Still, LA comes into Tuesday’s Game 5 of the 2014 NBA Playoffs as a -5.5 to -6 point favorite against the Warriors.
Clippers team owner Donald Sterling is under fire for racially charged remarks he supposedly made in recorded phone conversations with his then girlfriend.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver scheduled a press conference for 2 p.m. Eastern Tuesday to discuss the league's investigation of racist comments.
While the voice has yet to be independently verified as Sterling's, Clippers coach Doc Rivers and Sterling's wife are among those who say they believe it is him speaking.
It is Silver's first true test as NBA commissioner, and he vowed the league would "move extraordinarily quickly in our investigation."
When it comes to betting, the Warriors have played well against LA in the past but the home team has won 8 of the last 10 in the overall series and the Warriors are 1-4 Against The Spread in the last 5 meetings in Los Angeles.
