Ring Weekend Preakness odds were set at 43/1, making him the biggest long shot of the race. His odds were previously at 30/1.
He was the winner of the Grade 2 Tampa Derby and had earned enough points to run in the Kentucky Derby but came down with a fever.
The primary concerns as they apply to Ring Weekend have to do with speed. Even his Tampa Bay Derby was not viewed as entirely impressive considering the lack of competition.
Ring Weekend is looking to become the eighth gelding to win the Preakness, and the first since Funny Cide in 2003.
