A 10-year old online poker and casino venture is going out of business. Part of the OnGame Network, PokerRoom.com first opened its doors in 1999. The company notified customers and affiliate partners of its decision to close down.
"I would like to inform you that the option to play poker on PokerRoom and CasinoRoom will be disabled on Tuesday the 14th of April. The remaining players will only have the option to transfer to bwin after they log in."
bwin is part of the OnGame Network and has gained recognition in recent weeks for having its logo appear in the Lady Gaga video for her number one song "Poker Face". Oddly enough, bwin does not take US customers and the logo does not appear in the European version of this video.
"The good news is that bwin is a well established and respected brand," says Payton O'Brien of Gambling911.com. "This means that players funds will be safe."
This was not the case when Duplicate Poker and two Microgaming online poker skins, Privy Poker and Mr. Urban Poker, abruptly shut down.
