Friesan Fire has managed to do what the original 2009 Kentucky Derby favorite, I Want Revenge, could not.  He now has odds that are nearing even.

While I Want Revenge was listed at times with odds close to +225, Friesan Fire was now a +175 favorite at BetUS.com.

"A lot of those who had bets on I Want Revenge or probably doubling down on Friesan Fire in an attempt to recoup their losses," speculated Payton O'Brien, Senior Editor of the Gambling911.com website.

The bookmakers already made out big earlier today when it was announced that I Want Revenge had been scratched from the race due to an injury.  As the favorite, and presumably the horse getting the most action, the bookmakers already collected from those who had money on I Want Revenge.

"They'll lose a good portion of that back should Friesan Fire win," says O'Brien.  "But if Friesan Fire loses, the books will make out in a very big way, even more so if the other favored horses such as Pioneer of the Nile, Dunkirk and now General Quarters fail to win."

General Quarters was the biggest gainer of the day, moving up into single digit odds.  He would now pay $800 for every $100 bet.

"Our suggestion is that gamblers wanting either Friesan Fire or General Quarters should lock in the current odds now as the trend continues to be a slashing of odds on both horses."
