Billionaire casino mogul Steve Wynn was selected to lead the GOP fundraising operation into the 2018 midterm election at a meeting of RNC officials over the weekend, sources with knowledge of the meeting told LifeZette.com.

Wynn, 75, has been among newly elected US President Donald Trump’s most loyal supporters.  He even booted designer Tom Ford’s products from his casinos following disparaging remarks made by Ford towards Trump’s wife Melania.

Wynn and Trump were not always the best of buddies, however.

In 1996, Wynn called Trump "all hat and not cattle." Trump, in turn, called Wynn "an underachiever."  The two men also fought one another in a 1999 lawsuit that was later settled.

Wynn’s casinos include the Bellagio and Wynn Resort in Las Vegas.
