This year’s NBA All Star Break Slam Dunk Contest odds had Aaron Gordon of the Orlando Magic as the odds-on favorite with every $16.50 bet paying $10 (the $16.50 is refunded and the $10 is the profit should he be the winner).

Gordon finished 2nd last year to the T-Wolves Zach LaVine.

"It's going to be innovative," Gordon said. "It's going to be technologically oriented. It's going to be original and creative. I'm not looking to play it safe."

The competition is tight as Derrick Jones Jr. of the Phoenix Suns has short odds as well at +120.  The payout on Jones Jr. would be $12 for every $10 bet.

“I’ve been in a lot of dunk contests in my life, but this is one I really have to prepare for,” Jones Jr. said. “I go out there just to have fun, and do what I do.

“I’m going in as prepared as I can be. Everybody in there are in there for a reason, so you can’t take no one lightly.”

Deandre Jordan of the LA Clippers (8-1) and Glenn Robinson III of the Indiana Pacers (12-1) are also set to compete in the 2017 Slam Dunk competition.

The NBA All Star Break Slam Dunk Contest is among the most popular of the events taking place during the course of the weekend.
