NBA Conference Finals: Odds and Preview for Online Bookies

The NBA Conference Finals are off and running, and already, the NBA betting favorites are on top on both sides of the bracket.

Golden State continues to show it is the class of the NBA in 2016-17, and on the Eastern Conference side, Cleveland has shown just why the team won the NBA title a year ago.

The conference finals have gone according to the script to many NBA bettors, but will it continue?

Western Conference

Game 1 saw San Antonio capitulate, blowing a 25-point lead after Kawhi Leonard went down with an injury. With Leonard out, the Warriors two biggest stars, Steph Curry and Kevin Durant, shown brightly. Curry finished with 40 points, while Durant added 34.

The Warriors turned up early in game 2 and blew out San Antonio, 136-100. The team now has a commanding 2-0 lead in the best of seven series, and right now, it looks like there is no way back for the Spurs.

Ahead of the Warriors game 2 victory, the team was -2200 to win the series. Following the win, those odds will surely have become even longer.

NBA betting on the Warriors should increase as bettors jump on the favored team. The way in which the Warriors have played in the playoffs, in particularly against San Antonio, should influence many to wager on them.

Not only to win the conference finals, but to win the final. As of May 10th, Golden State was  -240 to win the NBA Finals.

If Leonard isn’t 100%, or even 85%, Spurs have little chance of advancing. Golden State’s one-two punch of Curry and Durant are too strong, if Leonard isn’t up for things physically.

Max betting limits should already be set on the teams.  Online bookies should also schedule a limit override betting between each of the remaining games, to ensure they aren’t wagered on too heavily before the odds even come out.

Eastern Conference

Cleveland dominated Boston in the Celtics’ home arena in game 1, 117-104. LeBron James carried the load for Cleveland with 38 points. Kevin Love recorded 32 points of his own as the Cavs rolled.

Ahead of the series, Cleveland was favored -700, while Boston sat at +450. The closer odds would have influenced bettors to wager on the Celtics. The team only won the Eastern Conference in the regular season.

Cleveland has played well all through the playoffs, and beat both Indiana and Toronto to get to the conference finals. Boston had to go to six games with Chicago and seven with Washington to get to this point.

The amount of high-pressure basketball is getting to the team, and fatigue – mentally and physically – is setting in.

With Boston reeling from being pushed to the brink of elimination in rounds one and two, King James should have little trouble against the Celtics.

Whether it is from the perimeter or driving to the paint, James will pound on Boston’s weary big men.

Cleveland may have played poorly down the stretch in the regular season, but the team is showing just why it is an elite squad.

The Cavs’ defense in game 1, limited Boston’s star guard Isaiah Thomas’ impact on the court. Jae Crowder led the team in points with 21, despite averaging just 13.8 ppg in the post season.

The Celtics need more influence from Thomas if the team is to challenge Cleveland in the conference finals.

Have layoff accounts ready for the Cavs’, there’s a good chance they will be very heavily favored in all sportsbooks. Only use a layoff account if the Cavaliers see way more cash than the agent can payout

Golden State and Cleveland could both be a perfect 12-0 when the two meet in the NBA Finals. It would only be fitting as they have been the two most dominating teams in the NBA over the last three seasons.

Have max betting limits in order as soon as the Championship games start. Bookies should also use their mass edit tool to schedule an override on betting for futures between the Warriors and Cavs’.
