Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has dumped his singer girlfriend of two years Jessica Simpson following her birthday celebration.
Ever since the two hooked up, the Cowboys have experienced one streak of bad luck after another.
First they started losing games whenever Simpson would appear to cheer on her hubby. The heavily favored Cowboys lost to the New York Giants in the 2008 NFC Championship game after Romo and Simpson fled to Mexico the week before while Giants quarterback Eli Manning spent the time practicing.
Last year was a complete disaster for the Cowboys, who failed to make the post season.
"She is heartbroken. She loves Tony. But it's been difficult lately. He's busy with his career and she's getting ready to shoot her show. They decided to part ways," a source says.
And we say "good riddance". There are plenty of other wholesome young men out there for the 29-year old Simpson.
It is not the first time Jessica Simpson cast her bad luck spell onto another person.
When she and then hubby Nick Lachey dined at Smith & Wolensky in Miami Beach a few years ago, the clutzy waiter spilled piping hot creamed spinach all over her dress. Whether the Dallas Cowboys 2009-2010 odds change as a result of this breakup remains to be seen.
