Hellmuth: Micheal Phelps No Complaints About Souped Up Suits
On his Twitter page, UltimateBet.com poker pro Phil Hellmuth claims that he met up with Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps and ranted on about the recent "souped up suit" controversy.
From his Twitter Page:
"Chatted with M Phelps-classy guy-he didn't complain at all, but he has lost 2 World records because his competitors are using souped up suit!"
The controversy arose last week following Phelps second place finish in the World Championships, held in Rome, Italy.
The winner of the 400 meter and 200 meter free style was a relative unknown German swimmer, Paul Biedermann.
It was later revealed that Biedermann raced in a brand new polyurethane swim suit that supposedly promotes buoyancy.
FINA, swimming's governing body announced later that these souped up suits will be banned in 2010.
Phelps is a fan of poker and would like to one day play on the professional circuit.
