You can bet College Football games from any number of internationally-licensed online sports books in the great states of Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana.

Is it Legal?

The US Supreme Court in May ruled that individual states could now follow in the path of Nevada and allow legalized sports wagering after decades of prohibition.

States must amend their current laws however and, until they do, sports betting will only be available from international outlets, some of which have been in business for nearly 20 years now.

Pennsylvania

The Keystone State will soon be offering sports betting at designated casinos.  Due to the high tax and licensing fees being imposed, Gambling911.com anticipates this to be passed onto the gamblers. Some sports books are expected to be open by the time NFL kicks off this season, if not a few weeks into the season.  Parx Casino outside of Philadelphia should be first on board.

Those living in and around Philadelphia can already bet sports in nearby Atlantic City or Delaware.

Those living in and around Pittsburgh will be able to bet sports in the West Virginia Panhandle, specifically the Mountaineer Casino, a mere 45 minute drive from Pittsburgh.

Ohio

Gambling911.com has been following the situation here closely as lawmakers in Ohio are still in session with two bills legalizing sports wagering are being drafted.

Senate Bill 316 and House Bill 714 do enjoy bipartisan support.

“We’re going to work together with the Senate and the house to come up with a comprehensive bill,” state representative Dave Greenspan said.  “It’s one issue, it’s one policy we’ve got two chambers and we’re going to work collectively and collaboratively to come up with a program that we believe will be in the best interest of the residents of Ohio and help promote our economy as well.”

Indiana

Indiana is not likely to legalize sports betting any time soon.

Even if the legislature passes a bill, it probably wouldn't happen until late April 2019. And then the Indiana Gaming Commission would need time to make regulatory rules.  This means that Hoosiers won't even be able to place bets at designated establishments inside the state during March Madness.

Rep. Alan Morrison, R-Terre Haute, has introduced gambling bills that haven't advanced far enough for a vote.

Morrison said he's "very pleased and excited about the decision" and that he thinks legalizing sports gambling in Indiana has a "fairly good" chance of passing next year.

"It'll be incumbent on me to educate members of the House about the benefits of doing this and the ramifications if we don't," Morrison said. "We really need to move forward on it."
