Full Tilt Poker Lawsuit

Another former "employee" of the world's second largest online poker company, Full Tilt Poker, has filed a lawsuit claiming he was "unfairly fired" and defendants "took control of his ownership".

Jason Newitt
v.
Tiltware; Full Tilt Poker; Pocket Kings Ltd.; Pocket Kings Consulting Ltd.; Raymond Bitar; Howard Lederer
9/11/2009

Contract action. Plaintiff says he was unfairly fired, and that his distribution payments were unfairly ceased. Defendants then took control of his ownership.

The Pokerati.com website points out that Newitt is the individual responsible for "inadvertently forwarding Howard Lederer e-mail about Jimmy "Gobboboy" Fricke (the "freak and very weird dude") - an "oops" that revealed a little something about Lederer and Bitar's positions and powers within the Full Tilt money machine."

Newitt's suit follows on the heels of a complaint filed last year by one Clonie Gowen.  In her suit Ms. Gowen asserts "breach of contract, a breach of fiduciary duty, a breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing, unjust enrichment, and fraud". The suit is based on facts stated by Gowen that she was hired by Full Tilt to be one of their "celebrity players" and that her compensation for that job was a one percent ownership of the company and any extended parts thereof.  She is seeking $40 million in damages.

As if that were not enough, the production company for Face The Ace, a prime time poker show that bombed on NBC over the summer, is being sued by an individual claiming they "stole his idea" for the show.  Full Tilt Poker was deeply involved with Face The Ace, providing its Team Full Tilt pros to go up against mere mortals.

Full Tilt Poker is also named in affidavit warrants obtained by Costigan Media, the parent company of Gambling911.com.  Costiga Media filed a Motion to Intervene and have seizure warrants related to Full Tilt  Poker payment processors unsealed.  A New York Circuit Court found in favor of Costigan Media and ordered the information released

The US Attorney's Office in the Southern District of New York is conducting the investigation.
