"Vegas Dave" Oancea will also be banned from sportsbooks for three years and must attend supervised gambling addiction treatment in addition to 150 hours of community service.

U.S. District Judge Jennifer Dorsey made her ruling last Monday.

Oancea plead guilty to one misdemeanor after authorities said he used other people’s Social Security numbers to open player accounts at casinos.

The alleged crimes occurred over a 12 month period beginning Februaray 2015 and ending in February the following year.

The 42-year-old has agreed to relinquish more than $550,000 in a related civil forfeiture.

Prosecutors had sought five years’ probation and 300 hours of community service.

While on probation, Oancea will be able to travel to Mexico where he owns property.  It was not immediately clear what restrictions, if any, would be placed on this Mexico travel.

Oancea said during his sentencing: “I just wanted to express how sorry I am to the courts,” while referencing “a closer relationship with my parents, better relationship with God.”

Oancea continues to sell picks via his Vegas Dave website.
