New Jersey Gubernatorial Race

Gamblers at the online betting exchange intrade.com believe there is a 40 percent chance that Democrat Jon Corzine will win the New Jersey gubernatorial race.  Those might not be the best odds in the world.

According to Jonathan D. Salant of Bloomberg News, the latest polls show that the New Jersey gubernatorial race between Corzine and Republican nominee Chris Christie is too close to call.

Bets were trading at closer to 50 percent at intrade on Monday.

Those trades followed three polls showing a statistical tie between Christie, 47, and Corzine, 62. A Hamden, Connecticut- based Quinnipiac University poll showed Christie ahead 42 percent to 40 percent with 12 percent for Daggett. The survey's margin of error was plus or minus 2.5 percentage points.
