Two of the top young quarterbacks in the NFL will tangle on Sunday afternoon when Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills take on Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals in a Week 10 tilt. Arizona blew a chance to grab a share of first place in the NFC West losing to Miami last week, snapping a three-game winning streak. The Cards had a chance for the top spot thanks to Buffalo, which slapped a 44-34 loss on division-leading Seattle. The AFC East leading Bills snapped out of an offensive slumber and forge ahead toward their first division title since 1995 having won three straight. Arizona is positioned as a 2.5-point favorite on the NFL betting line for this rare interconference encounter.  Bookmaker offers a generous welcome bonus (max bonus $1600).

Odds Analysis

The Cards opened as a 3-point favorite and some buyback has lowered the number to -2.5. It’s been a completely different scenario with the total. Oddsmakers set the amount at 49 and the betting public pounded the over forcing a rise to 56. We don’t often see a 7-point swing in the total, but two dynamic quarterbacks can sometimes do that. Both teams were helped by Seattle’s porous defense with the Bills scoring a season-high in their 44-34 win last week. The Cards dropped 37 on Seattle in a Week 7 win. Buffalo stopped a four-game ATS slide with its payout as a 3-point favorite moving to 3-5 ATS for the season. The Cards lost outright 34-31 ending a three-game SU and ATS winning streak. They have cashed the OVER in two straight after playing below the closing total in each of their first six games.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills were the preseason favorite to win their division and they haven’t disappointed. There was a slight glitch a few weeks ago where they lost consecutive games and the offense went into hibernation, but with Miami close behind and a bye in Week 11 now is not the time to take the foot off the gas. The Bills have won three straight following their only two setbacks and the offense returned to its early-season form against Seattle.

Much like Murray in Week 7, Allen had a field day against Seattle’s generous defense. Averaging just 18.8 points over their previous four games, the Bills exploded with Allen throwing for 415 yards and three touchdowns. He had just 461 passing yards without a scoring pass in the previous two outings. GM Brandon Beane said he wanted his team to win games when forced to throw the football 40 times. Allen didn’t hit that number against Seattle, but when throwing at least 35 passes in a game the Bills are 4-1 SU and 2-3 ATS.

Relying on defense and a potent ground game in previous season, the Bills have flipped the script. They have the seventh-best pass offense with Allen third in the NFL in passing yards and fifth with 19 touchdowns. Their 44 points against Seattle were the most under Sean McDermott and the highest single game total since 2016.

Arizona Cardinals

The Cards boast their own electrifying quarterback in Murray, who directs the league’s top offense. The Cards totaled 442 yards against Miami, their fourth straight game with at least 438 yards. They lead the league averaging 422 yards per game with Murray throwing for 2,130 yards while adding a team-best 543 yards on the ground. He will need help from his supporting cast, something he didn’t get on Sunday. Murray threw for 283 yards and three touchdowns with a career-best 106 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.

The absence of Kenyan Drake hurt the ground game. Outside of Murray, Arizona ball carriers averaged just 2.8 yards per attempt against Miami. Drake is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday’s game. The Cards have been able to score, giving this week’s matchup all the ingredients for a shootout. They’ve scored at least 30 points in four straight games to rank sixth with an average of 29.3 points per game.

This game will likely come down to turnovers. Both clubs victimized Seattle with the Cards picking off three Russell Wilson passes a few games ago. The Bills forced four Wilson miscues last week. Buffalo’s 14 takeaways are tied for the third-highest total in the NFL and a Murray strip-sack fumble was returned for a touchdown in last week’s setback.

If anything this should be an exciting matchup between two strong offenses. The Bills will probably find it more difficult to penetrate Arizona’s defense than it did Seattle’s. The same is true for the Cards, but not by much for either side. Frustrated with their loss to Miami says a lot about Arizona, and with a Thursday night date with Seattle in Week 11, this is a game that means a lot to them. Murray will again show off, only this time in a Cardinals victory.

NFL Score Prediction: Arizona 34, Buffalo 28
