Best and Worst Bullpens

Philadephia Phillies - David Esser of FanSided writes:

The primary talking point in regards to last year’s failure of a season, the Philadelphia Phillies 2020 bullpen was one of the worst in baseball history. The group of relievers blew countless games for the team, keeping them out of the postseason despite an expanded format.

For rather obvious reasons, the ‘pen needed a pretty dramatic revamp during the offseason.

The bullpen still needs work.

While the Phillies new-look reliever room flashed early signs of dominance, the unit has quickly regressed back to being one of the worst in baseball. The bullpen has an ERA of 4.86 – the fifth worst in the MLB at the moment.

Seattle Mariners - They have produced the lowest earned run average in Major League Baseball – 2.30 coming into this week.

Baltimore Orioles - Nearly one-fifth of the way through the 2021 season, the Orioles’ pitching staff has quietly grown into one of the better units in the American League, writes Joe Trezza of MLB.com.

They rank among the AL’s best in innings (5th), ERA (5th), WHIP (5th) and opponent average (4th). Lefty Tanner Scott and changeup sensation César Valdez have shined thus far but the team is getting results across the board.
