Angels Team Preview (May 8, 2021)

  • The Angels record was just under the .500 mark.  This marks the third straight year the Angels have reached the 30-game mark at least four games below .500.
  • The Angels are dead last in runs allowed per contest at 5.57.
  • Shohei Ohtani continues his torrid start, hitting his 10th homer of the season and driving in two runs.
  • Mike Trout is hitting .380 with eight homers, 21 runs scored, and 17 RBI.

Angels Starting Pitchers (May 8, 2021)

  • May 8 - Dylan Bundy (0-3, 4.00) - Don't let the record fool you, Bundy allowed two runs on five hits and one walk with six strikeouts over six innings in a loss against the Mariners on Sunday.  Prior to this, he carried a shutout into the seventh inning before giving up a two-run homer to Yuli Gurriel against the Astros.  Bundy has tossed 30 innings this season, allowing only 25 hits and eight walks, but has given up five homers.
  • May 10 - Alex Cobb (1-2, 5.48) - Cobb is out of control and this lends well to the OVER trend, though the number here could be high as the opposing pitcher seeks out his first win on the season.  He racked up eight strikeouts and handed out a whopping five free passes in his last start. The damage could've been a lot worse considering his lackluster control.  Cobb was pulled from his previous start.

Angels Series Trends (May 8, 2021)

  • OVER is 6-1 in the last 7 games beginning in 2020 of the LA Dodgers series (May 7-9)
  • OVER is 15-3 in the last 18 games versus the Astros (May 10-12)
  • Boston is 10-3 versus the Angels (May 14-16)
  • Cleveland is 25-5 vs. the Angels in their last 30 (May 17-19)
