PokerStars Pulls Out of Russia

The world's largest online poker firm is the latest to exit the Russian market following that country's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine.

"Important update: we are suspending all our services in Russia," PokerStars posted on all of its social media accounts.

Stars follows the likes of McDonald's, Apple, Coke, Pepsi and even oil giant Shell.

Russia began an invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022 as part of a major escalation of the Russo-Ukrainian War that began in 2014. It is the largest conventional military attack in Europe since World War II.

Last week, ICE London, among the largest i-Gaming conferences in the industry, announced it would be banning all Russian gaming firms from attending their April event.

Representatives for these companies probably could not get there even if they were welcome.  That's because Europe has suspended all flights in and out of Russia.
