Brazil's Pedro Bromfman Wins Event #38: $10,000 2-7 Single Draw Championship

Pedro Bromfman of Brazil won Event #38: $10,000 2-7 Single Draw Championship.  This is his first World Series of Poker bracelet win.  He walked away with $294,616.

A total of 111 players took part in the event, one short of last year's numbers.

It also attracted some of the biggest names in poker, among them Phil Ivey, Daniel Negreanu, Anthony Zinno, Darren Elias, as well as last years winner Farzad Bonyadi.

Bromfman told Poker News after the victory: ''It's unreal to me. I'm not a professional poker player. I guess my best friends are professional poker players. I play a lot of poker. It's almost like a second job for me, but this is my favorite game. I probably played more of this game than most of the people in this field, and it's unbelievable''.

The Brazilian, it turns out, almost opted out of the $10,000 2-7 Single Draw Championship.

'It was on Father's Day. My daughter had a play today. I'm like, I shouldn't play. I should go. But I was feeling horrible about missing it. And I said you know what? I'll play, and maybe I'll lose the first day. I'll just head home. But I didn't''.
