Layne Flack Favorite to be Inducted Into 2022 Poker Hall of Fame

Layne Flack is once again nominated to be inducted into this year's Hall of Fame and he is most certainly among the favorite.

Flack passed away from a drug overdose back in October.

“We show cause of death is listed as fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine intoxication,” Clark County coroner Melanie Rouse told Gambling 911. “The manner of death is accident.”

Flack was quite public about his prior addiction to drugs.  Many believed he had overcome his demons. 

Flack is also considered one of the most successful poker players in the modern era.

He won a total of six World Series of Poker championship gold bracelets in his career and also made the final table three times in World Poker Tour championship events, winning one title. 

In addition to Flack, nine other players have been nominated.  Among them is Gambling911 favorite Mike "The Mouth" Matusow.

Scheinberg is one of the most controversial figures nominated.  There are few who will argue that his online poker site, PokerStars, played a pivotal role in revolutionizing the game of poker.  But Scheinberg was also indicted in 2011 as part of a criminal complaint that nearly brought down the online poker industry.
