Suspect Sought in Murder of Vegas Reporter
Police have released a photo of an individual they believe had some involvement in the stabbing death of a prominent Las Vegas reporter. The surveillance do not show the suspect's face.
Jeff German, an award winning investigative journalist for the Las Vegas Review Journal, was found stabbed to death outside his home in the 7200 block of Bronze Circle, near North Tenaya Way, on Saturday.
German, 69, died of "multiple sharp force injuries" in a homicide, the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner said Sunday.
"We believe the altercation took place outside of the home," Capt. Dori Koren, a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department spokesman, said at a news conference. "We do have some leads. We are pursuing a suspect but the suspect is outstanding."

They believe the suspect was casing the neighborhood to possibly commit other crimes prior to the murder. There were no indications at this time that the murder had anything to do with his line of work.
"We take this case very seriously and our investigators have been working non-stop to identify and apprehend the suspect," Koren said.
German's work spanned for decades.
"I'm a member of the Las Vegas Review-Journal's investigative team, and I love digging up stories," German's bio reads on Twitter.
The respected reporter was a grad student at Marquette University and interned at the Milwaukee Journal during the late 1970s before finding his way to Las Vegas.
His last promoted story on Twitter was related to the notorious Las Vegas Black Book now including criminals outside of the gambling and mob sphere.
Investigative Reporter and documentary filmmaker Susan Bassi tweeted out that German was one of the lead reporters looking into the 2017 Las Vegas mass shootings.

The DC Press Club issued the following statement: "We call on police to redouble their efforts to catch the murderer and get to the bottom of why Mr. German was murdered and who gave the order for his killing."
