The 43-year-old founder of Cash App was fatally stabbed in downtown San Francisco earlier this month.

The San Francisco Police Department at the time did not disclose details about the circumstances of the attack on Bob Lee, but said in a statement that officers responded to a report of a stabbing near the city’s Embarcadero waterfront at 2:35 a.m. Tuesday.  The neighborhood is a mix of offices and modern condo buildings and nearby the Google headquarters.   Lee later died at the hospital.

Police announced the arrest of fellow tech exec Nina Momeni in Emeryville, CA, outside of San Francisco.  He is described in media as founder of Expand IT and Berkeley graduate.

The suspect and victim were said to be driving with each other in a car registered to Momeni when a confrontation occurred.

In further developments, it was revealed that Lee may have known Momeni through the later's sister, for whom Lee was thought to be in a relationship. Khazar Momeni is also believed to be a professional in the financial sector.

Sources told ABC7 that Mr Momeni’s sister’s home in San Francisco’s Millennium Tower was one of three places where police executed a search warrant on Thursday morning.

Momeni is related to top Bay Area plastic surgeon Dr Dino Elyassnia, who is believed to be married to the suspected killer's sister Khazar.

At the time of his murder, Lee was chief product officer of MobileCoin.

“Our dear friend and colleague, Bob Lee passed away yesterday at the age of 43, survived by a loving family and collection of close friends and collaborators,” MobileCoin CEO Josh Goldbard said in a statement.

Lee's friends describe him as a man with 'zero enemies'.  His death is highlighting concern about crime in the city.
