Gambling911.com Welcomes Sports Betting to the Great State of Vermont

(June 15, 2023) - It's the second least populated US state but Vermont offers a wealth of opportunity for the regulated sports gambling market with its sprawling college campus in Burlington.

Gambling911.com is here to celebrate Vermont becoming the last New England state to join the club.  It is by far among the most beautiful of the US states by far.

Unfortunately the Green Mountain State does not plan to launch its apps until January of 2024 the earliest.

On June 14, Governor Phil Scott signed the sports betting bill into law.

“I first proposed Vermont legalize sports betting several years ago and I’m happy the Legislature has come to an agreement, as well,” Scott said in a press release. “We know many Vermonters already participate in the marketplace and bringing it above board provides important resources and consumer protections.”

The Department of Liquor and Lottery (DLL) will oversee regulation.

It's a small state, so the idea of having six licensed operators might seem like a bit too much.  At least 20% of revenue will be turned over to the state.

We can expect the usual subjects to obtain one of the six licenses: DraftKings, FanDuel, Caesars and BetMGM.  The other two remain to be seen.

Then again we are learning that the new wagering law does not force the department to choose two or more operators if there are not that many qualified applications.

We should note that neighboring New Hampshire only has DraftKings.  And another New England state, Maine, has a white Supremacist sympathizer at the realm.  Can you say Oy Vey!!!
