The Nets Proved to Be a Good Pick Against The Spread vs. T-Wolves

Nets Cover Against the Visiting T-Wolves

We liked the Nets chances here but simply didn't have the stomach to pull the trigger.

Winners and Whiners offered an excellent assessment as to why Brooklyn would cover Thursday night.

"Brooklyn is in a great spot here to cover the spread. First, Minnesota will be on the tail end of a back-to-back, this is a notorious spot for bettors, especially considering there is travel involved from Washington to Brooklyn between games.

"Brooklyn will be the fresher team, and score from the perimeter where the bigs cannot stop them."

Our own number for this game landed on Minnesota -5.39.  The actual opening line was -4.5 and had dipped to -3.5, indicating a slight underlay. 

The back-to-back is a killer even if the prior night's game was against an even lowlier Wizards team.  It's reasonable to shave about three points off the number they should otherwise be at to get an actual number of a two point win or loss to Brooklyn.  Keep in mind, the Nets have played Minnesota well in recent years.

Knicks Slaughter Nuggets

Our Nuggets vs. Knicks betting preview explains why New York looked good here.....we didn't think THAT GOOD though.

"The Knicks should be favored here based on our calculations.  We get a number of Knicks 1.42.  Also keep in mind that the Nuggets are concluding their grueling road trip where they've gone 3-1, losing to Philadelphia."

Isaiah Hartenstein's absence made us only slightly squeamish.  In the end, we still enjoyed our 6th straight win at the G911 Sports Hub.

Celtics Obliterate Heat

The line on this one went from Boston -5.5 to -8.5 and it didn't matter if it closed at -30.  The Celtics beat the Heat 143-110. That's five straight losses for Miami.

The Heat were playing the second game of a back-to-back.

That Hot Jazz Road Fade is No More

There was a time over the first two months of the season where Utah just couldn't win on the road and they would regularly lose by 8 or more points.  That trend has ended.  It was great while it lasted.  The Jazz are looking like a really good team these days both at home and on the road.  They creamed a lowly Wizards team Thursday night in DC 123-108.
