A little more has surfaced in regard to the arrest of Patriots wide receiver and former LSU standout Kayshon Boutte for allegedly gambling while under age using an alias.  Specifically, it is being reported that the alias he chose was 'kayshonboutte7'.  That's right up there with using "password" as your actual password.

Boutte is accused of using an alias to bet illegally on sports while he was underage, Louisiana State Police said in a news release.

The news release also states that Boutte placed over 8,900 wagers, at least 17 of which were on NCAA football games and least 6 of which were on LSU football.

"In July 2023, LSU was made aware of allegations regarding a former student-athlete’s improper conduct related to sports gambling while enrolled at the University," LSU said in a statement. "Since then, we have fully cooperated with all relevant authorities involved in the investigation and will continue to do so. We have no evidence that any other student-athletes participated in these prohibited activities, and we are grateful for measures that detect and discourage sports gambling related misconduct."

Chad Graff, who covers the Patriots for The Atlantic, Boutte's other user name was kayshonboutte01”, again doing very little to hide is identity.

Graff notes, "According to the affidavit, Kayshon Boutte wagered $450,969.44 via 1,520 bets in 2022. He won $385,597.71, indicating gambling losses of $65,371.73.

"In 2023, he allegedly wagered $186k and won $170k, indicating losses of $16k."

College Sports Business & Transfer Portal Reporter, Peter Nakos observed that Boutte allegedly bet on himself at one point.

"Kayshon Boutte bet he would score a touchdown and rack up 82.5 yards against Florida State on Sept. 4, 2022. Part of an eight-leg parlay.  He didn't hit on either."

Wilson Alexander, who reports on LSU football for The Advocate, reports that Boutte opened his illegal betting account at FanDuel.

Flaming Hot Takes brought up an interesting tweet from December 2020 suggesting Boutte must have bet the Over in a game against Ole Miss.

Gamblers on Twitter will often question a player's performance based on spreads and totals.  Sportsbooks partnering up with leagues and industry sites like ESPN do not help matters.

CGunner asks the million dollar question.

"Why does no one question why the gambling site allowed him to place 8900 bets before turning him in to authorities?"

More to come, we suspect, especially with the Louisiana State Police involved.  See "Sportingbet Peter Dicks" for more on that.
