Hey, everybody's doing it.  So why not Apple?

We're talking about the launch of a sportsbook.

Apple hasn't gone there yet, but they did unveil a new sports app on Wednesday leading some to believe that's the direction they are moving in.

The new app provides "live scores, stats and more".

Oh, did we mention there are betting odds?

Barrons reached out to Apple and were told those odds are courtesy of DraftKings.

Asked whether Apple might eventually add live betting to the app, the company told Barrons that it had “nothing to share today.”

Sounds like a politician who shrugs off whether they will be running for President when we know they are going to (i.e. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis "I'm committed to governing Florida").

The app is currently available in the US, Canada and UK and will feature information pertaining to all the major sports leagues and a wide range of international football (soccer) like Bundesliga (Germany), LaLiga (Spain), Liga MX (Mexico), Ligue 1 (France), Premier League (the U.K.) and Serie A (Italy).  NCAA is coming soon.

“We created Apple Sports to give sports fans what they want—an app that delivers incredibly fast access to scores and stats,” Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Services, said in a statement. “Apple Sports is available for free in the App Store, and makes it easy for users to stay up to date with their favorite teams and leagues.”
