Hidayet Heydarov (AZE) is the +150 favorite to win the Men's 73 kg in judo at the Paris Summer Olympics.
The Azerbaijani judoka won the gold medal in the men's 73 kg event at the 2024 World Judo Championships. He also won a gold medal at the 2017, 2022, 2023 and 2024 European Judo Championships.
Manuel Lombardo (ITA) and Soichi Hashimoto (JPN) would each pay around $400 for every $100 bet by winning the gold medal in this event.
Lombardo is a two-time silver medalist at the World Judo Championships. He is also a gold medalist at both the Mediterranean Games and the European Judo Championships.
Earlier this year he reflected on the Tokyo Olympics and what changes will come in Paris.
"It was different, this is the first word that comes to my mind. I think a little bit easier because of the period before Tokyo. It was long and I started the Olympic cycle at 60kg [he laughs] then towards the end, in 2021, I took on so many kilograms, that extra year was really really hard. Now I can just focus on my judo which is such a good feeling, and when I lose, it isn’t at all the same. When you’re cutting 15kg before and go out first round [the wide eyes and deep breath say it all], so yes it is so much better now, a little easier but only the Olympic Games can have the final words."
Hashimoto became national champion at the All-Japan Judo Championships in 2015. He then became one of the lightweight division's top judokas by winning five tournaments consecutively, spanning from the World Masters to the Grand Slam Tokyo and Paris
Christa Deguchi (CAN) is the -160 favorite to win the Women's 57 kg event.

Deguchi won bronze at the 2018 World Judo Championships and become the first female judoka representing Canada to win a World Judo Championships medal. She won her first gold medal in the 2019 world championship.
In 2021, she won the gold medal in her event at the 2021 Judo Grand Slam. In August 2022, competing in her first major multi-sport event, the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Deguchi won the gold medal and, in 2022, she won gold at the 2022 Judo Grand Slam Baku.
“Christa is very happy to have won the gold medal. By her own admission, today wasn’t one of her best days ever, but she kept pushing, and she found a way to win each of her bouts. That she was able to beat some of the best in the world, even though it wasn’t exactly her best day, is a very good sign,” said Canadian coach Antoine Valois-Fortier.
