DENVER — British online sportsbook bet365 (bet365.com) opened a U.S. headquarters this week in Colorado’s capital city, and Gambling 911 was on hand for the opening.

The opening was huge local news in the Mile High City because bet365 said it plans to hire approximately 1,000 people to work at the facility.

The news was so big that both the mayor of Denver and the governor of Colorado issued statements praising bet365 for bringing so many new jobs to the area.

Gambling 911 this week trekked to Denver to visit bet365’s new U.S. headquarters and came away very impressed.

The headquarters is located in one of the most prestigious office buildings in the Denver area, the Platte building, at 1701 Platte St., just a few blocks from downtown Denver.

The British sportsbook has leased the third and fourth floors of the five-story building, acquiring 60,000 square feet of space on each floor.

A Gambling 911 reporter was invited in to the headquarters and given a tour—the fourth floor is still being renovated, but the third floor, where reception is located, is mostly completed.

The reporter also talked to the head honcho of the HQ, but he asked not to be quoted or named because he was not authorized by the big bosses in London to do an interview.

Besides being located in a place of prestige, one of the reasons bet365 chose the Platte building for its U.S. headquarters Is for the marketing opportunities the building presents.

The back of the building faces a major highway, and building tenants are allowed to post signage for their companies on the building’s backside.

According to the leasing company that handles the building, approximately 300,000 vehicles a day pass by the building on that highway and see the signs.

That likely means that more than half a million people every day will view what amounts to a giant bet365 billboard, once the signage is put up.

The sportsbook is also going all-in on local advertising.

Signs and banners advertising bet365 appear throughout downtown Denver, including on city-owned street directory signs.

There is no advertising anywhere for any other sportsbooks, so it appears bet365 has an exclusive advertising deal with the City of Denver.
