Ashton Jeanty rushing yards total for the game against UNLV Friday night Over/Under featured a number of 192.5 at BetUS.

Consider that Jai'Den Thomas and Hajj-Malik Williams, both of UNLV, were the only other players that had rushing yards props and were listed at 55.5 and 57.5, respectively.

Jeanty is now the Heisman front-runner, according to oddsmakers.

"The Heisman campaign, I just keep the main thing the main thing," he said on Wednesday in a Zoom call with the media. "That’s winning every single week and performing to the best of my ability for my teammates, coaches and fans. If I make it about myself, then I won’t be able to achieve the things that I want to because this is a team sport. At the end of the day, I need everybody on the offense who’s working hard for me and even on the defense because, without the defense, we can’t win games."

He's getting praise across the wide spectrum of sports media.

“At No. 1, I’m gonna give a slight lead to Ashton Jeanty,” Time Tebow said ahead of Thursday’s Heisman Trophy Preview Show on ESPN. “I also have Cam Ward, Travis Hunter and Dillon Gabriel all up there near the top. But I think what Ashton Jeanty has done for the first six games – and he’s only played six games – has been incredible.

“He’s leading the FBS in so many different categories, but my favorite category is 6.7 yards after contact per rush. That is ridiculous, and because of that stat alone, I give him the slight edge over those other three guys.”

Boise State @ UNLV

This game does carry national implications courtesy of the expanded College Football Playoff.

Both teams come in with just a single loss. Boise State is ranked No. 17.  UNLV only lost by three points to Syracuse a few weeks back.

The line on this game has shifted between -3 and -3.5 Boise State.

Sagarin gives us a number of Broncos 1.45, indicating an overlay here.  The dog does have an edge in these situations based on our own model.

Around 80% of the action was on both the tickets and money pouring in.

The winner takes a major step toward securing a spot in the playoffs, which take the five highest-ranked conference champions, guaranteeing space for a Group of Five program.

“We know it’s a big game,” Rebels coach Barry Odom said. “Don’t run from it. Don’t make it bigger than it needs to be, but understand the moment that they’ve earned, they’ve created for not only our program but our conference. You look around the world of college football this week and in the top five games it’s UNLV and Boise.”

The Broncos (5-1, 2-0 Mountain West) have a little more margin for error for making the playoffs. Their only defeat was 37-34 to top-ranked Oregon on a last-second field goal, and loss to UNLV could be made up by winning the conference championship.
