Kentucky Justice Cabinet officials are staying mum in regard to news first broken by Gambling911.com on Wednesday that the online gambling sector had seemingly satisfied the requirement for "standing" in a controversial matter whereby the commonwealth, via Governor Steve Beshear, was threatening to seize some 141 online gambling domain names.

The Kentucky supreme court last week issued a ruling that it will not lift the freeze by registrars of 141 Internet gambling domain names unless an owner of the names comes forward.

Owners of the TruePoker.com domain name have signed an affidavit showing they are a member of the Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association (iMEGA.org) and is allowing the online gambling trade group to represent their website.

The case has been ongoing for nearly one-and-a-half years now.

Beshear claimed that the Internet betting firms, all of which are based outside the US, were "leeches" in the state of Kentucky and penetrating into the local gambling market, in particular Churchill Downs.
