Linda McMahon No 'Lock' According to Betting Market

With so much focus on Pete Hegseth, Tulsi Gabbard and Kash Patel, Linda McMahon has mostly stayed under the radar when it comes to President Donald Trump's cabinet picks.

The pro wrestling media and entertainment mogul had previously served in Trump's administration as the administrator of the Small Business Administration (SBA).

McMahon has now been nominated to head up the Department of Education.

The Kalshi betting market has 52 or fewer Senators confirming McMahon, though this market is relatively new.

If below 53 Senators vote in favor of confirming Linda McMahon as Education Secretary before Aug 1, 2025, then the market resolves to Yes. Outcome verified from the U.S. Senate website.

The National Education Association does not support McMahon in the role, calling her "unqualified".  They also cite her position expanding voucher programs, which they say "rob our public schools of resources and particularly hurt our most vulnerable students".

Earlier on Saturday, the Senate confirmed South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem to serve as the Secretary of Homeland Security, putting her squarely in charge of immigration.

Noem, a Republican, won confirmation in a 59-34 vote. She becomes the fourth person confirmed in Trump's cabinet, following Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and Pete Hegseth.
