The Sportsbook at Encore Closed..... During Busy College Basketball Saturday?
A gambler on Saturday took to Twitter to blast The Sportsbook at the Encore Boston Harbor for practically being shut down during a busy day of college hoops.
Some of the highest limits available
SammyP writes:
"THE Sportsbook is laugh out loud funny. Like it’s THE Ohio State. Eight of the 10 counter positions are closed on a busy CBB Saturday with Celtics-Lakers playing tonight. $300 limits at the kiosk too. Fuck outta here."
One person offered up their own experience at THE Sportsbook.
"Wouldn’t take a $20 golf bet from me at the kiosk had to wait and chop them up. Why are they in business?"
A Dumont relayed:
"Every goddamn time I go there, 0 people working. The dumpy sportsbook in Plainridge is better than that one!"
They claim to be open at 10 am on Saturdays and 9:30 am on Sundays, but apparently nothing happens prior to 3 pm on weekends. That's when they open Monday through Friday. Keep in mind there have been big soccer matches played earlier in the day, and what about MLB games that start weekdays at 12? Perhaps they will change their hours come the new MLB season.
At least they offer cuisine from Shake Shack.
"The Sportsbook features more than 70 televisions, including a 10-foot high and 123-foot-long video wall, a collection of trophies, an installation of classical-inspired sports accessories, and a collage of historical images of local sports heroes and events, a full-service bar, and cuisine from Shake Shack and Frank & Nick’s, the second concept by Frank DePasquale and Nick Varano within the resort.
"Shake Shack offerings include 100% Angus beef burgers, crispy white-meat chicken, frozen custard, shakes, crinkle-cut fries, craft beer, and wine. Frank & Nick’s offers a selection of artisanal paninis and North End favorites such as Rosetta's meatball sub, eggplant and chicken Parmigiana, and house-made roast beef paninis, in addition to brick oven pizzas, salads, and a variety of coffees and desserts. Visit to watch your favorite team on the big screen close to the gaming floor action."
Those in Massachusetts can bet online but not using a credit card.
