The Massachusetts Gaming Commission on Thursday took a big step in protecting the rights of sports bettors by approving a draft regulation requiring sportsbooks to notify customers when they impose limits as well as to provide an explanation. A public comments period will follow.
One of the more outspoken professional sports gamblers and BetBash organizer, Gadoon "Spanky" Kyrollos, has been pushing for these changes over the past year.
He tweeted:

Want to thank my colleagues @Schuetzinc @HarryDCrane and the rest of the @bettorsvoice board for helping the industry obtain clarity on the injustice and lack of fundamental fairness taking place around the country. When we started @bettorsvoice, our goal was to make a meaningful impact. Happy to see all the hard work and education pay off. We’re just getting started."
Thus far, however, Massachusetts seems to be one of the only states eager to offer these types of protections for sports bettors.

Spanky has also taken issue with sportsbooks pushing wagering products that are nearly impossible for customers to show winnings over the long run.
He directed his ire at an individual promoting parlays. A parlay is a type of sports bet where you combine two or more individual wagers into a single bet. A number of sportsbooks have even pushed so-called "same game parlays", which offer an even greater edge for the house.
PredictionMarketTrader tweeted:
"Combos are one of the coolest things to come out of prediction markets. I've even seen sports people start to talk about comboing multiple teams together in their plays Just goes to show how mainstream prediction markets are becoming."
Spanky's reply:
"While I welcome as many options for the consumer as possible I can’t stand assholes like this acting as if the parlay is a new invention. Please cut the bullshit out."
