Joran Van Der Sloot Captured

Joran van der Sloot, the man wanted in connection for the murder of a Peruvian woman, has been captured in Santiago, Chile.

The victim, 21-year-old Stephany Flores, was found stabbed to death in a Lima hotel room registered under van der Sloot's name.

Van der Sloot was the lead suspect in the Natalie Holloway missing persons case back in 2005.

He had been in Lima to take part in this week's Latin American Poker Tour (LAPT).

As reported by Gambling911.com, van der Sloot is known to play online poker under at least two handles.

"He was found in a rented vehicle on highway 68 and is now being taken to police headquarters," said Douglas Rodriguez, head of investigation police in the northern city of Arica.

Rodriguez said the Chilean government now has to decide if it will send Van der Sloot back to Peru.

Chile set up checkpoints along more than 250 miles of rugged border area. Police also checked hotels, guest-houses, restaurants and casinos.
