Oddsmakers and gamblers alike are going into overdrive upon learning that the magnificent mollusk Paul the Octopus has selected Spain to win the 2010 World Cup.  The psychic octopus has been all the rage at this year's tournament, picking perfect to date including Spain's win over Germany that has his home base exchanging octopus recipes

German fans may be somewhat appeased following Paul's prediction that Germany will beat Uruguay Saturday in its matchup to determine the third place 2010 World Cup team.

The octopus has not made a mistake in predicting football matches for the past two years.

Paul is presented with two boxes, each containing food, and each marked with the flag of a national team. He is reported to have chosen the box with the flag of the winning team in several of Germany's six Euro 2008 matches, and in each of their first six matches in the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Spain pays close to even odds at Bookmaker.com while Netherlands pays US$25.50 for every US$10 bet.
