Gambling911.com has been paying close attention to the latest news on the iPhone 4.  First off, some of us would like to purchase one.  More importantly, our famed sponsor Bookmaker.com, the oldest established North American facing sports betting website online today, had been offering odds on an iPhone 4 recall.

The odds of this happening appear pretty good now.

Tom Kaneshige of CIO writes

Consumer Reports confirmed yesterday that the iPhone 4's reception problem stems from a faulty hardware design-not a software flaw, as Apple previously claimed.  Software can be fixed with an update; hardware might require a recall.

Kaneshige suggests that an iPhone 4 recall would be "epic" and compared it to that of the situation faced by Toyota earlier this year.

A recall before July 31 would pay out nearly $20 for every $10 bet at Bookmaker.com.

The website did not anticipate a recall when they published their odds last month.  "No recall" was at 1/4 odds.
