No Online Poker Cash Games in Italy Until Winter
The market in Italy is about to open up for online poker players but it may be a couple more months until cash players can take advantage.
The review of the draft decree by the European Commission and the other EU Member States will last three months up to 15 October 2010, and, if it is not challenged during this period, the draft decree will be approved shortly after this date, according to eGaming Review Magazine.
Italy looks to follow France’ lead in allowing online poker cash games. Since France began its licensing process, a number of the French-domain online poker sites run by well known networks have already begun to dominate the top 15.
Italy looks to license some 200 online poker sites.
