While it still may be early, the 2010 World Series of Poker (WSOP) main event featured two ladies among the top 10 chip leaders.  Aside from the 2007 World Series of Poker Europe main event, no woman has ever made the final table of the WSOP main event.  One of the more exciting features of the main event in recent years has been anticipation surrounding the "last woman standing".

Sasha Rosewood and Vanessa Selbst were the two women holding the number 7 and number 8 chip count spots, respectively, heading into Sunday's play.

Rosewood has close to $60,000 in lifetime live tournament play since 2008.  She finished 7th in this year's Event #4 - WSOP Omaha Hi/Lo 8 or Better.

A much bigger name in the world of poker, Vanessa Selbst has made five final tables including two heads-up semi-finals at the World Series of Poker and won the 2008 World Series of Poker $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha even.  That earned her over $227,000.

Selbst is definitely someone to keep a close eye on. As of 2010, her total live tournament winnings amount to just over $1,670,000.

Gambling911.com would be remiss in pointing out that Ms. Selbst probably should have qualified for Jenny Woo's Notable Gay Poker Players.  Selbst was head of the Yale Queer-Straight Alliance while attending that prestigious university.
