Americas Cardroom Combines Two Tourneys For One Mammoth $100K Guaranteed Sunday
What's better than giving online poker players a shot at one massive $50,000 guaranteed prize pool? The answer: Giving them a shot at two $50,000 guaranteed prize pools – on the same day.
Americas Cardroom will pair its two most prestigious tournaments on October 14 to create a combined one-day guarantee of $100,000, the online poker site announced today.
One of the events will be Americas Cardroom's weekly Sunday Night $50K, which starts at 7:00pm ET and is the site's biggest weekly guarantee. First place in the event almost always takes home at least $10,000, with more big paydays paid to players who make deep runs. With a buy-in of $200+$15, each player starts with a huge 10,000-strong chip stack, making it a deep structure with lots of play.
The second October 14 event will be The Beast $50K Guaranteed. The Beast is Americas Cardroom's groundbreaking progressive points race that revolutionizes how jackpots are awarded. It is funded entirely through players' shared contributions at jackpot tables. Instead of doing what most sites do – throw fees into one giant pot that rarely gets distributed – The Beast creates a new jackpot that pops every month.
The race awards everyone who participates and not just the top finishers. The total accumulated cash prize pool of September's run reached almost $114,000, dispersing cash to 328 players on the leaderboard. Matt "mbolt1" Bolt won September's The Beast cash race, taking home $10,940 in addition to the money he won at the tables.
The secondary jackpot prize pool, which awards players with tournament entries, finally came to nearly $32,000, giving 578 players (including the top 328 in the cash leaderboard) a $50+5 tournament ticket to The Beast 50K Guaranteed, which begins at 6:00pm ET.
One unique feature of The Beast is The Beast Live, in which five of the biggest cash game grinders at Americas Cardroom compete for the top spot on The Beast leaderboard – and they do it with their webcams turned on. These players have the opportunity to gain public notoriety while also displaying their skills on the virtual felt.
"We've got some really competitive line-up for the upcoming race in October," Americas Cardroom spokesman Michael Harris said. "We expect that it will be a close race as the five players who will be participating all have impressive online poker resumes."

"Clutch 352"– Over 7 million hands played; over 25,000 tournaments played; one of ACR's most renowned grinders.
"Rustyrupert9"– Protégé of Dusty "Leatherass" Schmidt; over 5 million hands played; over $600,000 in winnings; over 7 years playing online poker.
"Giant Buddha"– Versatile professional player since 2006; sustained consistent win rates of 2bb/100 hands in limit holdem and 5bb/100 in heads up limit.
"Curmunchkin"– Has played 4 WSOP Main Events; reports over $800,000 in winnings; reached the top 10 of September's The Beast standings.
