A spokesman for Americas Cardroom announced today that they will be reducing their mid stakes players bad beat jackpot contribution by half. Players who played $0.25/$0.50 and above contributed a maximum fee per hand of $0.50 in the old structure. Moving forward all stakes between $0.10/$0.25 and $1/$2 will only contribute a maximum of $0.25 per hand.

"We take all player feedback into consideration when designing our promotions," commented Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris. "Our mid-stakes players felt that the bad beat jackpot had too big of an effect on their win rates. We've decided to lower their contribution so that they can still partake in the excitement of the bad beat jackpot without it having a major effect on their overall results."

Americas Cardroom's bad beat jackpot progressively accumulates by taking a small fraction of each pot at designated bad beat jackpot table. The jackpot is won when a player has Quad 8's or better beaten. The jackpot is then divided amongst the players who participated in the hand with the biggest portion of 30% going to the player who was beaten.

Since the bad beat jackpot promotion was introduced in May of 2011 by Americas Cardroom, it has awarded millions of dollars to its winners. The jackpots have climbed to over half a million dollars, giving each player who plays at the bad beat jackpot cash tables an opportunity to win life changing money.

"It's one of our most popular promotions because our players get the opportunity to win incredible amounts of money just by playing poker as they would anywhere else," continued Harris. "Every day that the jackpot climbs so does the excitement in our poker rooms."
