Professional poker player and Card Player magazine publisher Barry Shulman, in the midst of a three-month, half-million-dollar, Asian-Pacific cruise, is apparently having a good time--he recently visited the world's most infamous red light district and blogged about the live sex shows where women do vulgar tricks with ping pong balls!

Blogging regularly for CardPlayer.com from his penthouse suite aboard the luxury cruise ship Crystal Serenity and detailing his voyage, Shulman, who's won over $3 million playing live tournament poker in his career, revealed that he recently visited Patpong, the infamous red light district in Bangkok, Thailand, that features everything from child prostitutes to sleazy live sex shows.

In addition to posting multiple photos from Patpong on the blog, Shulman implied he'd visited one of the notorious sex shows, where naked women are known to perform sexually-provocative stunts involving items such as candles, balloons and ping pong balls.

"Then it was off to Patpong, an area known internationally as one of the great red light districts in one of the great red light cities," Shulman blogged. "They are particularly well known for their ping pong ball shows. Use your imagination if need be."

For those without imaginations, he's referring, of course, to female performers in the sex shows who, among other wacky stunts, propel items such as ping pong balls out of their vaginas to the delight of the paying onlookers.

They've also been known to inflate balloons and blow out candles on a birthday cake with the same orifice.

Other show stunts involve group sex and yes, even animals!

As crazy as the shows sound, they're a huge hit with tourists and locals alike.

The shows last about 30 minutes, feature a dozen or so sexual stunts involving nude performers and run all night in makeshift performance venues operating out of creaky old buildings.

Tickets for the shows cost just a few bucks, adding to their appeal among impoverished Thais.

So why, you might ask, would a respected magazine publisher and multi-millionaire poker pro visit Patpong and see a live show involving ping pong that many would describe as disgusting and even perverted?

Why wouldn't he?
