Two former World Series of Poker main event champions, Scotty Nguyen and Johnny Chan, have been holding their own at this year’s event, though Chan has dropped into the lower 40 chip leaders after spending time among the top 10 these past few days.

By 6 pm PST some 300 players still remained, including Chan and Nguyen.

Scotty Nguyen was pretty far down at 247 at press time.

Nguyen won the 1998 World Series of Poker Main Event[1] and the 2008 WSOP $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. World Championship.

Chan became the first player to win ten World Series of Poker titles.  He is currently tied with Doyle Brunson for second place with 10 World Series of Poker bracelets, behind Phil Hellmuth. He was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2002.
