The 2010 WSOP main event honorary starter Greg "Fossilman" Raymer busted out in under 90 minutes.  The odds of that happening had to be pretty slim, like getting hit by lightning we at Gambling911.com think.

He was first to start and first to leave apparently.  Raymer was gracious enough to sign autographs on his way out the door.

The 2010 World Series of Poker officially got underway at 12:07 pm PST Monday.

The field includes nearly every poker pro and a few big name celebrities. Former Dallas Cowboys backfield stars Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith are among those who has registered in advance to participate this year.

Last year's Main event drew 6,494 entrants.  Many more were turned away at the door the final registration day including Patrik Antonius, who we trust is probably camping outside the entrace this year.

The WSOP now has 378 tables, up from 295 last year, and is encouraging players to register early.

"Failure to register early will limit your flexibility up (to) and including the possibility of being shut out of the tournament," the WSOP says in an online memo to participants.

Last year's debacle was probably enough to get most players heeding the warning.
