Gambling911.com has your 2012 Preakness Stakes picks, some important considerations before placing your bet on that favourite horse.

I’ll Have Another – (pays $25 for every $10 bet with a win) All the experts seem so down on this Kentucky Derby winner, primarily because Bodemeister continues to be all the rage.

News Flash:  Bodemeister didn’t win the 2012 Kentucky Derby.  I’ll Have Another did!  And I’ll Have Another did it from a post position (19) that had never produced a Derby winner.

We get the thought process behind Bodemeister winning the 2012 Preakness Stakes.  He led throughout the Derby only to be outdone by I’ll Have Another in what seemed like the final second of the race.  The Preakness has a shorter distance than the Derby.

I’ll Have Another continues to look fabulous following his big win.

Although veteran turf writer Steve Haskin seems to feel I'll Have Another won't produce a Triple Crown this year, he still gives the Derby winner accolades.

“But all of that just may be moot. I’ll Have Another could simply be the best 3-year-old in the country at any distance, and as of now there doesn’t appear to be any reason why he isn’t.”

At between 2/1 and 3/1 odds, I’ll Have Another still has plenty of value

Bodemeister - (pays $16 for every $10 bet with a win) Again, we understand all the hype, but at +160 odds Bodemeister has little value in our book.  He does, however, fit into any trifecta bet.

Creative Cause - (pays $60 for every $10 bet with a win) Some may theorize that Creative Cause has already peaked.  He finished an okay 5th place at the Derby but had not finished worse than 3rd place in 8 of his prior races.  With the shorter distance at Pimlico, Creative Cause probably has the best shot within a trifecta wager.

Went The Day Well - (pays $60 for every $10 bet with a win) You gotta like Went The Day Well as part of a trifecta bet since he finished 4th at the Derby and has not finished worse than 4th place in his last 4 races.

Zetterholm - (pays $200 for every $10 bet with a win) – This horse has won his last three races and finished in 2nd place the race prior to those three.  Definitely a trifecta bet consideration.
