Belmont Stakes 2012 Weather Forecast: Horses That Run Best in Mud

The odds have been upped for the Belmont Stakes 2012 weather forecast to include rain and, as such, Gambling911.com takes a look at horses that have proven they can run in the mud and muck (i.e. mudders).  We say hold off on betting until Saturday afternoon but set up your online betting accounts here at WagerWeb well in advance as the weather conditions won’t truly be known until a few hours before post time.   

Probably of more interest is a Belmont Stakes 2012 contender that has not performed well on a muddy track, that would be favorite I’ll Have Another.  He previously ran poorly on the mud track of Saratoga.

Dullahan is another horse that simply has not had much experience on muddy tracks.  His best performances have come on polytrack or turf. 

Union Rags, another of the favorites at 6/1, performed superior on the mud at the grade 2 Saratoga Special on August 15^th of last year. 

There is a possibility the track will remain dry, however, as storms are expected to be scattered.  Furthermore, less than an inch of rain is anticipated should Belmont receive a direct hit. 

Some of these storms, we should note, could prove severe.
