Danza Kentucky Derby Odds: Could Thrive on Distance

Danza Kentucky Derby odds were set at 11-1. Betting online was available from BetOnline, which is offering a 7% rebate on losses and up to $1000 in FREE BETS for qualified users.

Danza will be starting from the coveted number 4 spot, which has produced four winners since 1930.

He won the all-important Arkansas Derby at an incredible speed (104) and Late Pace numbers (106).  Danza is peaking at just the right time.  He’s a horse that is craving the long distance of Churchill Downs.

But here’s the big problem a la the Courier Journal:

His Arkansas Derby was too big — going from an 87 to a 104 BRIS speed figure and 79 to 102 Beyer fig — to have him at his best three weeks later. He's eligible for the wrong kind of "bounce." He got a rail-hugging trip in the Arkansas Derby under Joe Bravo, and only Calvin Borel is allowed to do that in the Kentucky Derby.
