BetOnline has posted odds to win the 2012 Preakness Stakes more than a week before the 2nd leg of the Triple Crown is set to take place.  You can find all of the betting odds here.  These prices will change once the post position draw takes place so Gambling911.com encourages readers to lock these odds in now if they look appealing early on.

Amazingly, Kentucky Derby winner I’ll Have Another was not listed as the early favorite to win the 2012 Preakness Stakes.  Instead, that honor goes to Bodemeister, who led the entire way until the final seconds.  Oddsmakers are counting on Bodemeister mastering the shorter track.  It is run on 9.5 furlongs compared to the Derby at 10.

Bodemeister was coming in as the +140 favorite, which would pay out $140 for every $100 bet or $14 for every $10 bet.

I’ll Have Another had odds that will pay out more than three times that of Bodemeister (current is 4.5/1) should he win.

The Derby winner began his prepping at Pimlico Race Course in Maryland, home of the Preakness Stakes, on Wednesday.

“He got over the ground really well, his ears were pricked and he was full of energy,” said Jack Sisterson,  assistant to trainer Doug O'Neill.  “His energy level is fantastic, something that we want to see his first time back on the track. You wouldn’t want to see him with his head down going along there.”

We at Gambling911.com can’t help but think at +450, I’ll Have Another offers terrific value.

This, after all, is a horse that won from a post position (19) that has never produced a win the Kentucky Derby’s 137 year history.

Went the Day Well, Creative Cause, Hansen and Optimizer are all guaranteed starters, barring any injury or infection.
