Pioneer of the Nile's odds to win the 2009 Kentucky Derby were now at +400 at SBG Global.  The same odds as Dunkirt and just +100 off from the favorite, I Want Revenge.

"I don't know if we've ever had a Kentucky Derby where the odds were so close and there were no clear cut favorites to win," says Payton O'Brien of Gambling911.com.

Another contender, Friesan Fire, had odds of +500 while a few other horses were believed to have "upset" potential.

As for Pioneer of the Nile, his odds of winning the 2009 Kentucky Derby are about as good as any other contender in the race.

From Newsday:

"He gives new Hall of Famer Bob Baffert a chance to win his fourth Derby and his first since 2002. Clearly the best 3-year-old on Santa Anita's Pro-Ride surface, but can he excel on real dirt in the toughest race of his life? Looking good and training well at Churchill, and Baffert knows how to get them to peak for the big day. Garrett Gomez, an outstanding money rider, chose him over Dunkirk. The main worry is that the Pioneer got rank and pulled hard on the backstretch in his last two races. If he relaxes, he could win; if he doesn't, he'll beat himself."

From Doc's:

"The best part of this horse is that he means that Bob Baffert is back in Kentucky with a serious contender. That always makes the race better. There are real questions because this California contender has never run on dirt, but he just keeps finding a way to win despite facing less-than-ideal racing situations. He's a brawler, and that's sometime what it takes to survive the chaos of the Derby."

The payout should Pioneer of the Nile win the 2009 Kentucky Derby at SBG Global would be a cool $400 for every $100 bet. Get 295 Percent in Bonuses When You Open An Account at SBG Global Today

How We Follow Horse Racing Has Completely Changed

Horse racing has always been a sport built on routine. Certain days meant certain tracks, the form guide landed when it landed, and if you missed a race, you simply caught up later. Following the sport required a bit of commitment, a bit of patience, and often a bit of guesswork.
