Kentucky Derby winner Orb is an obvious Preakness Stakes contender.  His odds were still hovering right around EVEN and there is definitely some value there.

Eight challengers have lined up to face Orb with Mylute now having the second shortest odds at 5/1.

A 5th place finish at this year's Kentucky Derby and ending up just three and three-quarter lengths behind the winner Orb at this year's Louisiana Derby makes Mylute a contender at the 2013 Preakness Stakes but it is a little difficult to fathom him having the second shortest odds coming into the race.  He is yet to win at a mile and one-eighth or beyond.

Departing did have the second shortest odds and at one point was a near favorite with Orb prior to the post position draw on Wednesday.  He was the winner of the Illinois Derby.

Having visited the winner’s circle in four of his last five races makes Departing an obvious Preakness contender.  But Departing is yet to win a major race to date.

Oxbow at 15/1 odds is another of this year’s Preakness contenders and there is certainly some value with those long odds.

Will Take Charge sort of surprised us here at Gambling911.com running the Kentucky Derby in mud.  We practically wrote him off as one of the horses that had performed poorly on a sloppy track prior to entering that race, yet he stayed in it, moving with the closers and ultimately finishing in 8th place.   At 12/1 odds he has value, having won the Smarty Jones Stakes and Rebel.

The 6th place finisher at this year’s Kentucky Derby, Oxbow has been in front in the stretch in four of his past seven races.  Starting from the coveted 6th spot at the Preakness could give him an advantage.

Here were your latest Preakness odds, subject to change.  You can bet this race at SportsBettingOnline.com, which rewards customers with up to 10 percent weekly money back on both losses AND wins (sign up and log on for FREE)
