Heading into Saturday morning, filly Rachel Alexandra remained a modest favorite to win the 2009 Preakness Stakes race.  Her payout odds were slightly better than even still at some online sportsbooks.

BetUS.com listed Rachel Alexandra as an even favorite paying $100 for every $100 bet.  Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird would pay out an astonishing $500 for every $100 bet.

Preakness Stakes betting has been brisk but there is not nearly as much interest in this event as with the Kentucky Derby according to Gambling911.com stats.  This is considered normal especially when the race is lacking an "overhyped contender thought capable of winning the triple crown".
